William Sadler’s extraordinary film career stretches back several decades and includes such iconic titles as THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, IRON MAN 3, THE GREEN MILE, DIE HARD 2, AUGUST RUSH, THE MIST, EAGLE EYE, KINSEY and BILL AND TED’S BOGUS JOURNEY and he JUST reprised his role as “Death” in BILL AND TED FACE THE MUSIC. William starred opposite Karen Allen in A STAGE OF TWILIGHT and he is next to appear in THE COMEY RULE coming to Showtime.
Moving with equal ease from drama to comedy, from action to sci-fi, Sadler has created some of the most memorable characters ever put on film.
His TV performances include such notable roles as “Michael Sheehan” in the Emmy Winning WHEN THEY SEE US, as “Mitch Barrow” in THE HIGHWAYMEN, as “Mitch McConnell,” “Wilbur Ross,” “General Kelly” and “Jeff Sessions” in the animated Showtime series OUR CARTOON PRESIDENT, “Tony Teresi” in the hit series POWER on the Starz network, Chuck Cooper in the ABC’s WHEN WE RISE, “Chesty Puller” in the award winning HBO mini-series THE PACIFIC, William Clay in the Epix series BERLIN STATION, John McGarrett in HAWAII 5-O, and Jim Valenti in the ROSWELL among many others.
William Sadler started his career on the stage in New York and has returned to those theater roots again and again. He created the roles of Sgt. Toomey in the original Broadway cast of BILOXI BLUES, Mark Twain in John Guare’s A FEW STOUT INDIVIDUALS, JULIUS CAESAR in Denzel Washington’s Broadway production of Shakespeare’s JULIUS CAESAR, and most recently appeared opposite Geoffrey Rush and Susan Sarandon in the Tony winning EXIT THE KING.
